The Healthiest Diet Secret Ingredient
Okay so this isn’t as much of a secret for many of you however, it IS an important reminder as you are bombarded with fad diets left and right.
The healthiest diet includes vegetables.
Some think it’s to go full on vegan, which there’s nothing wrong with that, however the reason the vegan diet is healthy is because it’s filled with Whole Foods— mostly vegetables.
Vegetables got a bad wrap growing up with mom’s overcooked broccoli but the truth is, is that even if you say you don’t like vegetables, there are so many ways to prepare vegetables that you just have to find a way that you enjoy.
My favorite way to get in some vegetables, other than throwing spinach into a smoothie or omelet, is to roast a variety in the oven and have them on hand to mix into salads, wraps and quinoa bowls.
This is so quick and easy to do in bulk that I can’t find a good excuse to skip eating veggies anymore.
Vegetables are high in fiber, water and nutrients that our bodies need to repair cells, regenerate and operate effectively.
There are too many benefits to eating your veggies to list them all without boring you to tears so here are a few that will make you think twice about leaving your broccoli on your plate:
- Helps with weight loss
- Healthy digestion
- Boosting immune system and
- Lower risk of diseases like heart disease, cancer and stroke
What’s your favorite way to level up your nutrition with vegetables?
